SemperGram Covid-19 Having Impact on Glove Prices - november 2020
Covid-19 continues to have a significant impact, not only on our day-to-day lives, but also
on the global supply chain and factory capacity relating to disposable hand protection.
The demand for disposable hand protection and other PPE has increased to neverbefore-seen levels. These demands have stressed factories and the supply chain to the point that shortages are being seen in the marketplace. Production lead times on many products have increased from a few months or less to several quarters or more.
This surge in demand continues to result in higher prices to the market. As a result, we will be implementing price increases on December 1, 2020 for products purchased from our domestic distribution centers.
For customers purchasing through a container program, your prices will be based on the
month of shipment. Therefore, pricing is not confirmed when the purchase order is placed with us, but instead will be communicated approximately 30 days prior to shipment.
Our prices to the market will be commensurate with those from our factories. No effort is
being made to artificially increase prices.
All customers ordering from our domestic warehouses are being held to strict allocation
programs. Pricing for any orders placed over allocation prior to the increase will be repriced accordingly.
Finally, due to the frequent and extraordinary increases, at times we will have to cancel
backorders.
